I was at work tonight.   A parade came up St. Peter, right past my setup.  No idea what was being celebrated.  Band was playing "Down by the Riverside."  Parade had far too many costumes, too much alcohol, and too many gals in sexy clothes for it to be an anti-war march.   Then I saw the big French tricolor flag.

        Bastille day isn't for a few days, but New Orleaneans tend to party and parade on Saturday nights, and Bastille Day is a big holiday here.
