        I have always had a difficult time with gift giving and receiving.   Seasonal gifts are an obligation this this culture which I extracted myself from as a young man.   Money was always tight and I did not enjoy shopping for others.   Compound this with my frustrations at receiving gifts from well meaning people who gave me gifts I had zero use for.

        I had  thought last night.   It kinda came to me from nowhere.   At first I resisted it.   Then I thought about it some more.

        I write a lot.   It is all available at no charge here on LJ.   Many people write books, get them published, then get some money back in the form of royalties.   I will probably never put together a salable book.  My brian does not organize well in that fashion.  I gets lots of thanks for various of my posts.  I have no idea what (if anything) my LJ blog is worth to anyone.   I sure plan to keep writing, even if it never makes me a dime.  Robert Heinlein onces commented that writing is not nearly so much a profession as it is a disease or a compulsion.   I write, both so I can find material later for my own use, and because I am trying to spread memes which might possibly help to change the world in positive ways.

        However, I am very broke.  Money is crap and does not look like it is getting any better down here.   So I could really use an influx of cash or resources.   Being on the edge of homelessness, every little bit helps.

        So I have decided to delineate what would help me and how to get it to me.

        Money is ideal.  Those with surplus cash are certainly welcome to help me pay for my utilities or rent.   Small donations are likewise cool.   For those who prefer to send me packages, rather than a check, I can easily let you know what I'd like.   Just give me an idea of how much you want to spend.

I'm broke right now -- and I've got a friend crashing on my couch as an alternative to being homeless. He has no income at all, so I guess I'll be feeding him till he gets back on his feet. I've learned a lot from your LJ. I've got my diabetes under pretty reasonable control -- I'm not taking any meds for it at the moment as diet and (occasional) exercise seem to be enough. I take supplements, thanks to your recommendations, and that combined with the dietary changes seem to have done the trick.

Does it get cold enough in NOLA for you to wear knitted items in the winter? I could make you a hat and/or scarf if you'd like. I have lots of my own handspun wool yarn. Let me know your preferred colour(s)!

Thanks a lot. Yes, I get cold in winter. However, I get intense itchies from will. Will write you with details on how to get me money. I do see one problem. This is not a very cosmipolotin place. Bznks charge huge amounts of money for cashing foreign currency of checks made out in non US funds. Do you do paypal?

I'm in the US -- Massachusetts is *still* part of the US, despite acting like a people's republik from time to time. I can send a personal check (on a US bank), a money order or paypal -- whichever is easiest for you.

i was going to send you a gift copy of my book, which has you quoted a couple of times, but it strikes me you can't directly eat that tiny piece of publicity or kudos- so how about i send you the book later on and send you money that is the actual cost of the book now, as a donation? do you have paypal?

I have been wanting your book ever since you started writing about it. I have not had a desire to buy a magick oriented book since I parted company with Uncle Kennie in the early 1980's. A copy of your book would be most appreciated!

Time is of no essence. My mind does not work well in this heat. Come Fall, I shall be working afternoons and it is nice to have a book to read when no potential customers are near me. People always ask me what I am reading. Who knows? Maybe it might generate you a sale or three.

Do you have a gift list somewhere? Like listing food/brands you like?
It's possible on my next trip to visit my family that i can come and drop some dulse and other not easily spoiled foods off. (I don't know when my next trip is, but is likely to be this winter.)
