I went to google images just now looking for images of dog watering bowls outside of stores. I could not find any. Which reinforces the rarity of the situation I see down here.
I never saw this in other places I have lived, but I must admit I walked a lot less, took my car, or a bus to get around.
Down here, a lot of shops have bowls of water outside for dogs. I probably pass 5 or 6 every time I take a 6 block walk. The Gelato shop near me always keeps the bowl full. There are antique shops who do so also. Even some private homes.
When I pass by when not many people are around, I see roaches taking a drink, as well as pigeon, squirrels and even a rat or two.
Is this common other places? Or is it one of those New Orleans quirkinesses?
