Foodstamp People Are Insane!
Last week I was in line at Rouses behind a guy buying chewing gum with his Foodstamp card.

Today I was at Whole Foods.  I attempted to  buy some cooked spareribs, hot chicken noodle sop, and a gallon of water with Foodstamps.

I was told I could buy the water, but not "the hot food".

Yet one more reason to execute most all Congress Critters.

If people could buy hot food with foodstamps, they could buy $50 steak dinners that feed one, once. So no, the system will not allow people to buy prepared food (like cooked spare ribs from the food bar).

How much nutrition is there in $10 worth of chewing gum?

Agreed -- the gum makes no sense. But they definitely don't allow food stamps to be used to purchase McDonalds or other restaurant food.

I just saw a sign that they accept SNAP cards at a local Arbys. Right on the drive thru menu board. Im in Arizona, so I guess each state hs its own rules. Oh, also CircleK and other convenience marts are now advertising they accept them. But no fresh foods there; lots of packaged snacks. But even if someone was buying canned foods or milk/eggs, they are more expensive there than at a groc store. And this is even in neighborhoods where a grocery store is right across the street from the 7-11 or CircleK.
